The Faculty of Law at Uzhhorod National University co-organised the travelling photography exhibition ‘Ecology and Law’

On 17 November, the travelling children’s photography exhibition ‘Ecology and Law’ opened at the ‘Owl’s Nest’ Cultural and Historical Centre as part of the 14th ‘Docudays’ Travelling International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival.
The exhibition’s organiser, Maria Symkovych, noted that this event has become a tradition, as it is being held for the fourth time. According to the festival’s co-coordinator, Maria Mendzhul, an associate professor at the Faculty of Law of Uzhhorod National University, the venue was not chosen at random: the organisers decided to add a touch of children’s creativity to the restored cultural monument.
The young people were inspired to be creative by watching films about human rights as part of the 14th Travelling Festival ‘Docudays ua’.
Competition participants
The main theme of this year’s festival – ‘Four Degrees’ – is dedicated to the issue of climate change and environmental protection. Environmentalists predict that by the end of the century, the average global temperature will rise by exactly that amount, triggering natural disasters across the planet. The festival invites visitors to become catalysts for change and to look at environmental protection from various perspectives – not only through film, but also through legal awareness and advocacy events, discussions, eco-campaigns and more.
The guests were welcomed and the city’s most talented students were presented with valuable prizes and special awards by Ruslana Naturkach, Head of the Main Territorial Administration of Justice in Zakarpattia Oblast; Yaroslav Lazur, Dean of the Faculty of Law at Uzhhorod National University; and Oksana Babunych, Head of the City Council’s Education Department.
The winners were awarded certificates
